#2 Seoul vegan restaurants - Korean style Chinese Vegan restaurants
Nestled between China and Japan, Korea has put its unique spin on their cuisines! You'll discover numerous Chinese and Japanese restaurants in Korea, but they offer a creative twist rather than traditional dishes. Koreans absolutely adore black bean noodles (Jjajangmyeon) and spicy seafood noodles (Jjambbong), which you won't find quite the same in China. These dishes are deliciously tailored to Korean tastes with a spicy kick, yet milder on traditional Chinese spices.
You simply must try them in Korea! Don't be daunted that they might not offer you a vegan/vegetarian options! I have put chinese restaurants in Seoul that offers vegan foods for you.
Gawon (가원)
Right in the heart of Mangwon, you'll find the most incredible sweet chili eggplant for vegans! They make ordering a breeze with clearly marked vegan options on the menu. Every time I'm in Korea, this is my go-to spot when craving Korean-style Chinese dishes! Below photo is a fried sweet chili eggplant with crispy outside and smashed veggies inside it.

Hwanggeumnyong (황금룡)
Another variety of vegan chinese foods waiting for you in Mapo-gu. They are also master of eggplant, this time infused with the tantalising flavours of Gganppong eggplant—a garlicky, sweet chili delight with a hint of sourness.

ALT.a (알트에이)
Exciting news! ALT.a has been honored with a Michelin 2025 award this year! Backed by its parent company, ALT.a, which crafts its own plant-based meat, this fantastic spot serves up a variety of Korean-style Chinese dishes. My favourite is Jjampong with deliciously cooked noodles and so much vegetables with spicy soup.

Camouflage (카무플라주 이태원)
Camoufalge is a American chinese restaurants, known for its exceptional fried vegan chickin. The restaurant features a range of Korean vegan chickin flavours, including zesty orange chicken and savoury Teriyaki chicken, among others. Additionally, it offers a selection of refreshing non-alcoholic tea cocktails, making it a great place for drink.

Shin Dong Yang Banjum (신동양반점)
This place is located in Yeoui-do, financial centre in Seoul. This spot is a true hidden gem for those seeking delicious Chinese vegan cuisine! Run by authentic Chinese owners, the restaurant will offer you separate green vegan menu per request. My absolute favourites are the Gganpung Shitake mushroom and their incredible fried rice!

Sunny Bowl (써니보울)
Sunny Bowl is an exciting fusion spot that isn't your typical Chinese restaurant, but it serves up an amazing array of Western fusion dishes like the fiery Chinese Jjambong! I consider myself pretty tough when it comes to spice, but their Jjambong definitely packs a punch! If you're not in the mood for something spicy, don't worry—there are plenty of other delicious options like the Yakki mayo pasta and the coconut milk curry.
